Adventures of a Global Wanderer
Back at the bus depot I switched buses to take me to the City Mosque at the opposite end of town in a suburb called Likas. The City Mosque has been nicknamed the 'floating mosque' due to its appearance floating on water.
The bus cost 1Rm (.35 cents) and was blasting Bollywood tunes. Instead of driving along the coast directly to the mosque he wound thru the north of the city making me think he was going the wrong way.
On arrival at the Mosque it was much more touristy with coaches of tourists arriving and souvenir stalls. The tourists don't normally go in but as I'm Muslim and look local I went in with no problems
There was an outer hall with a Perspex roof for shade followed by an interior hall.
To cool down I went into the washing area to splash myself a bit.
The bus back was another 1Rm (.35 cents) with more dance music playing. The midday heat was now getting too much with exploring all morning so I tried to get back to the hostel to stay in and cool down
