Left Sancti Spiritus relatively early. A quite scenic hilly road and just over 2 hours later we reach Cienfuegos. A grid like layout makes navigation easy. Our casa is very centrally situated! We take a stroll down Calle 54 - a lovely pedestrianised street with the most shops I've seen so far. This is relative though! A stroll down to the square and then via a small flea market down to the sea and it feels like a photo taking marathon! Lovely pics though. We find a cigar shop that sells a gin and tonic drink in bottles and buy some for later. A very unhealthy sounding ATM delivers money that should hopefully last the rest of the trip. A disco nap and dinner (and G&T) prepares us for a night out. We walk down the Malecon towards the place suggested by the Lonely Planet. Initially it looks a bit crappy (especially after passing an interesting disco earlier), but after 2 mojitos, spanish ballads on large screen evolves to kareoke which evolves to a very fun and interesting evening with dancing until after 2 in the morning. We take an old car taxi back to the casa and the 5 hour sleep is too short!
