After yet another nice breakfast we take a little yellow coco taxi to the hotel inglaterra in the centre to pick up our rental car. Down the Malecon, with a quick stop to pick up our luggage, we head on towards Pinar del Rio. Quite a nice highway and just over 2 hours later we arrive in a little town where we have a great roast chicken lunch. We have a visit to the guava drink factory for a quick tour and taste the cognac type liquor that can only be found in Pinar del Rio. Just outside of town I learn a lesson that someone you think can help confirming whether we're on the right road to Vinales actually thinks we're agreeing to giving him a lift. A couple of frantic 'No's and closed windows later and we're off - luckily (we found out from signs a few kms later) on the road to Vinales. The kronkelende road filled with donkey carts, chickens, bicycles and of course cars takes us to a small town with a main street and town square - said to have 250 rooms in little brightly painted casas.
We have a nice dinner at our casa and the casa lady introduces us to a guide for the next day. A quick visit to the music house with an interesting show and a mojito (on recommendation of our guide) ends the day.
