Deb's Adventures
Today we had a masseuse come to the house so we could get massages. Clarice had hers in the morning so Eric and I took the car and went out exploring. We were originally hoping to get into the park first thing before the crowds and the madness but no luck. There were scammers everywhere and 100's of people lined up at the gate before they even opened.
Instead we drove to a very secluded beach and went for a walk. After our walk we decided to go to Emilio's for breakfast. Martin suggested we go there at least once. On our way from the beach to breakfast we ran into a traffic jam. A sloth was very slowly crossing the road. Someone had picked him up and put him on a fence post beside the road so he would not get hit by a car. Everyone was taking pictures so we got out and joined the group.
Emilio's was great but we still had a little time to kill so we decided to headto El Avion for a bloody mary. This is a bar and restaurant built around an old old Fairchild military cargo plane. They were not open yet but they allowed us to walk around and take some pictures. We decided to head across the street for a Bloody at the Negro Gato. We were thankfully the only ones there because we could see how that place turns into a 20something party place.
By now We figured Clarice's massage was over so we headed back to the house. We enjoyed some bubbles and a late morning dip in the pool and decided to go to La Mariposa for lunch. La Mariposa is an upscale hotel with panoramic views. We ordered ceviche and a seafood platter for four and we were once again stuffed. Eric and I came back for our massages and Ryan and Clarice went back out to explore a little.
Our massages were amazing. Ryan and Clarice found a boutique hotel in the jungle to have some cocktails and relax by the pool. They came back with awesome monkey pictures. Apparently a few monkeys visited the pool deck where they were hanging out, some momma monkeys even had babies on their backs. Ryan and Clarice then went back to La Mariposa to enjoy the sunset.
We made seared ahi tuna for dinner and had an evening swim and called it a day.
