Deb's Adventures
Eric and I were up first and pretty hungry so we went down to the courtyard and enjoyed a really nice breakfast and then went to sit by the pool and wait for Ryan and Clarice. They had a good sleep and found us relaxing in the beautiful Costa Rican sun. We joined them for
breakfast so we could visit and catch up on all things wedding (Hooray). I am honored to say that they have asked me to participate in the ceremonies and I am now a very proud bridesmaid. After our second breakfast we sat by the pool for an hour and had our first glass of vacation champagne or what we more affectionately call bubbles.
At around 11:30 we headed back to the airport to catch a ride on a small Otter twin across the country to the Pacific Coast. The plane ride was about 20 minutes. It was windy so we bounced around a little. We landed on a tiny strip in the jungle and pulled up to an old open air one room airport which was also a bar and the rental car company. It took us a little bit to get our car squared away. Finally we were all loaded in to our Toyota Rav4 and on our way. 14 Kilometers later we found ourselves on the back roads of Manuel Antonio and at our beautiful home for the week.
We were greeted by Martin the owner/caretaker. He showed us the home and shared some delicious home made moonshine with us. We unpacked and headed back out to find a store to stock up on beer, wine and food. It's an adventure shopping down here. The driving alone is a bit sketchy and there is no air conditioning anywhere. We managed to get a good stock of stuff including lots of bottles of bubbles.
After stocking our fridge and our pantry we ventured back out to find a place to watch the Superbowl and continue our quest for the best ceviche ever. We found a great restaurant and Clarice and I shared a giant seafood platter that the boys were a little jealous about.
We are happy to be in Manuel Antonio and excited to explore the area.
