David and Julie Browning's Travels
Well, here we are, our last night of the trip (apart from the journey
home that is). From Peterborough yesterday we traveled south to
Eastbourne, Sussex.
If I waxed lyrical about the hotel in Peterborough, then we really struck
gold with the hotel in Eastbourne, The Cavendish Hotel
.
It really is a grand hotel. The decor and furnishings are indicative of the 1920's or
30's. The service is spot on from the moment you check in to when you
relax in the bar with a drink. The perfect place to spend our final two
nights.
Today is our final day for exploration, and what better way than to explore the coastline around Eastbourne and finish with a visit to Brighton to see the famous Brighton Pier.
Visiting places like Beachy Head and Birling Gap is quitre breathtaking. Windswept fields along the tops of chalk cliffs and beaches.
Nextits on to Brighton - oh look, we're back in Scarborough, only bigger.
The whole of the seafront is taken up by hotels and B&B's, with
multilevel walkways stretching along the beach. Seems like a good way to
bring our journey to an end.
Tomorrow we head back to Heathrow Airport to drop off the car and then fly out. Homeward bound we are. Or as Julie would say, "Someone please Tie a Ribbon round the
old oak tree" I am coming home.
Stay tuned for our final entry tomorrow.
