Back on the road again, this time we're heading further north to the
Lakes district. We've found this great
little hotel in a place called Dockray, Penrith. Stuck on the side of
the road in the middle of nowhere (thank heavens for the SatNav and GPs
co-ordinates). Today we experience real country road driving - narrow
twisting roads, barely enough room for the car to negotiate - constantly
hoping no one is coming the other way. Pictures don't do the area
justice - its even more spectacular than the peaks district. Just go to
the web site above and you'll understand what I mean. The next day we
spent 3 or 4 hours just driving around, letting the roads takes us
wherever they go - truly spectacular. The area is famous for walking
trails, and wherever we go we come across groups of people walking on
the side of the roads, or setting off cross country all rugged up and
sporting backpacks.

When we return to the hotel it is
full of walkers relaxing at the end of the day with hot food and cold
drinks - so we do the same.
