dave and emily latin america 2011-2012
The few days we spent in Isla Holbox off the north coast of Mexico was our first real experience of the ´wet season´.
The mornings are almost always beautiful blue skies and very hot, and then almost on cue everyday about 3pm the clouds come in and you get a spectacular lightning show, with booooooming thunder and lots of heavy rain. This tends to last about an hour then stops.
Generally it is very welcome but on Holbox it meant the pesky mosquitos come out to play, which makes life somewhat more interesting.
The photo is of a main street on Isla Holbox, they have sand roads which is nice, but when it rains it becomes a problem to walk around!
