So it was leaving Phi Phi at 5am that was an issue - however we paid around 700 Baht , just over 10 pounds. This journey was what I hadn't planned for - due to the fact Koh Samui was completely the other side of the country to Phuket and Phi Phi. Who knew hey? But £10 to catch a ferry from Phi Phi to Krabi, a little bus (where we had to crush in) from Krabi port to Krabi town, then a really uncomfortable coach from Krabi town to Surat - minus a couple of stops and changes, then another stop in Surat and onto the most crowded bus ever where Danny almost sat on my lap! Almost ok…! to the port of Surat and then a boat to Samui. Not an ideal trip when you are having, to put it politely bathroom issues! But we all survived - just… We got into Samui around 6pm, just as it was just dark. The ferry from Surat was actually pretty nice! We hung out at the back while the sun went down - and I got an amazing picture of it. Shannon wasn't happy about out lack of class in our travel but this really reminded me of the old travelling days. £10 for a whole days travel - can't be bad in my eyes. And it was exciting - mainly because the only thing we knew is where we should have been going, not where we were going. So we were staying in Lamai beach, a town away from the hustle and bustle of Choweng ( the party capital) but also the nicer beach. Our cab dumped us in town and refused to take us to our hostel - idiot! Note to self never take cabs to a place, without telling them where the place is…So after another 30 minutes debating what to do, we took another Cab to the hostel - which was £3 a night by the way and right on the beach. Food was the first thought, since we had had nothing but crisps and coke! We walked into town and had the nicest meal I have had so far, Shannon didn't come with us, but Dan had red snapper, Stu had Shark and I had Barracuda - and honestly it was the tastiest meal ever. I have never had Barracuda before but I highly recommend it! It was nice to have a real 3 course meal, instead of Pat Thai and rice dishes. We then had a walk around Lamai and honestly - looks like a bad move. Lamai is where all the old men come to get their brides to be. There's a strip of Go Go girls that was unbelievable - I hadn't even seen that in Phuket. Very off putting! And they loved Stu because of his height. I know you may think, wow that'd be fun to see, but it wasn't at all, was really an uncomfortable kind of place!Back to bed me thinks - tomorrow is another day, and we can explore the beach, that is literally at the end of our hostel! Awesome.
