So we are on our last day in Koh Phi Phi, and what a way to go out. We hired a long boat for the day again, and cruised around Phi Phi Don, the Island we were actually staying on. The mission, make it to Bamboo Island, at the far top reach of Koh Phi Phi. I love these longboats, you can chill on the front, ride shotgun with the driver, or as High Tower (Stu) was doing, be very hung-over and lie down underneath the seats. First stop a secluded bay where we spotted Captain Johns boat, Danny and I immediately jumped off and swam to shore to try and find him. And there he was sunning himself with a French girl lying just to his side - hard life hey! Something we didn't bank on, the rip on this beach was huge, Danny ripped his toe nail off getting into the beach and I had a few scars going down my legs, where I hot coral and stones. Ouch! That's our diving in Samui out the window! Crap…Anyhow this beach was very difficult to get too, and therefore gorgeous! The trip back out against the riptide was pretty exhausting though. I love jumping out of boats…Anyway catching up with John was cool, he is really funny, although very stereotypically American (sorry! But typically American). The longboat ride then took us to Bamboo Island, now this is what I am talking about - stunning beaches all the way around the Island, and a national park - completely unspoilt! This was what Fiji was like and this is what I loved. Camera out - and I was snap happy! The water around this far north island of Phi Phi was crystal and beyond the crystal it was green with coral. Gorgeous, and just to annoy you even further it was boiling! We walked all the way around the Island which took around an hour - but it was worth every second. This is where I could live out my days in peace and tranquillity. I really didn't want to leave but we had things to do people to see and cocktails to be had. I also burnt my foot pretty badly here - swelling was immense, cuts and burns - a typical Brit on holiday! Arhh I nearly forgot our longboat driver was so funny, used his crouch to steer the boat and when we left him, he had his own hammock in the longboat - I am sure he was either stoned or drunk the whole time - just kept shouting "yeah man"Plus it was Valentines day and I had to get Danny some female action. Huge party proceeded at Hippies and Shannon and HT unfortunately were on different partying schedules to me! And well Danny - you know Danny he can party anytime! What started as a quiet few drinks after a gorgeous sea food dinner (food here is literally the freshest I have ever tasted!) Cocktails began - and the chatting went on and on. Danny ended up being eaten alive by a lovely Danish girl while I chatted to my favourite Irish friends. Dancing and chatting! Brilliant night. John was very upset when he saw Danny getting more love than him - but was happy for him, turning to his French girl and saying "why don't you kiss me like that". Honestly I couldn't see most of Danny's face…HeeheeThey had fire dancers again and some good tunes, all in all a party on the beach that will be remembered for all the right reasons.Morning came and yes we chilled on the beach and swam in the pool before going to the village just south of our accommodation, which was so cool, shops everywhere and little cafes, but not in the way we know cafes - traditionally western Thai. The beach on the other side of the port is stunning, just like a bay area. This is what I am talking about!Anyhow we leave tomorrow morning at 5am to go across country to Koh Samui, from Krabi but are heading out again tonight to play Jenga and party on the beach…I love the fact that everyone here drinks out of buckets… just order a vodka and coke and you get it in a bucket, an actual bucket, like the ones you used to build castles with when you were younger… how cool is that!
