So Shannon had bagged us the ideal solution upon leaving Phuket. She had befriended an American Captain of a Sail boat - surprise. But honestly I was ready to leave Patong, I mean the beach was gorgeous and we had found one bar which we did like, no it wasn't a go-go bar or lady boy bar before all the comments come flooding in!But the tackiness of it did start to remind me of Loret de Mar and other such European hotspots!!!! So it was a 6am start to the other side of the Island to catch the Sail boat. How wicked was this going to be! Not only were we heading to Ko Phi Phi (where the beach was filmed - we were doing it in style!). The boat was great, not so big, but not stupidly small either! It soon became apparent that my dream of buying a sail boat and disappearing around the world was subject to review! Yes it was choppy! And both Captain Dan and Captain Betts to be were hideously sick within the first 2 hours… nice! Sailor me? Never….However diving off the boat into the crystal blue ocean when we stopped for lunch was my highlight. Gorgeous, both the sea and the fact we had our feet on solid ground. We also discovered that this Islands beach was gorgeous, very quiet but amazing, the sand just sucked your feet into it, with crystal clear water drawing in and out. Brilliant. And absolutely gorgeous - so much so that Dan and I wanted to screw off the next 6 hours on the boat and live there instead. So the next 6 hours actually were not as bad as the first - we found our sea faring legs. The Captain did help too, being a Yank he was very chatty and being very bitter about his past love and break up, made for good listening! Captain John of the Thailand seas we called him. Although laying around on the front deck and chilling out watching the open seas, while travelling at around 5 knots was defiantly the ideal choice. All of us decided to do some deep sea fishing and were actually so successful, we ate our catch, BBQ style that night. A huge Spanish Mackerel - see the pictures. Gorgeous fresh fish, I have never tasted fish like this. This is why I wanted a boat - he says to himself again… Ha - never. Night dawned and you could see the plankton (bad spelling) lighting up as the boat surged through, as night dawned the ocean was still and my god - this was heaven. No sound , just the stars and the wind pushing us towards paradise. My god this is truly the life. Ko Phi Phi appeared in the distance like two dark cliffs on the horizon. Entering a port Captain John had never been too, and at the dead of night also…scary stuff!Keep on your seats people because the next update will actually tell you if we made it or not???? Ha…
