So I was up early and quite happy to leave Wellington, catching the 9am ferry to the south Island – wooohooo! Wasn’t aware that it took 3 hours, and for you that know my love of boats, 3 hours is a long time! However we had the football and the cricket so all was well, I just tried to sleep. 3 hours later I arrived in Picton and was greeted by the big Green Kiwi Bus! The adventure starts here, I remember thinking if this is a fraction as good as the adventure tours or Oz Experience its going to be awesome. The difference here though I noticed was these buses are proper coaches, way more comfy but 20 people more. I actually didn’t meet anyone until we got to our first destination which was Nelson, and the Tasmin Archer National Park (really called the Abel Tasmin Park, but I think my way is better). The National Park was gorgeous, really pretty scenery and walks. Nelson however was dead as well, I made friends with 3 girls, Cat, Cloe (Daffers for short) and Alma (Skippy), and we went out to try and find some life. Its like a ghost town, no people anywhere. However we did manage after searching to find a small cocktail bar, which we indulged and Daffas started to get the barman to make her own variety of cocktails. Funny night, Skippy and Daffas were plastered, and were singing on the way home!
We left here and traveled to another crappy town called Westport, really no point in discussing it, I got bit 42 times here and I am not kidding 42 bites – serious pain!. Daffas left us in Nelson, so it was the forging of the Team, Cat Dave and Skippy who would conquer NZ together, united
