So the flight to Auckland was very smooth, although I was feeling very nostalgic to leave Australia.
But I met a guy who's name eludes me now on the plane, averaging at 6 ft 5 ish, so i nicknamed him high tower!. Got on really well, that he decided to stay at Base in Auckland too. Arrived and my god it was warm.. hotter than Australia by a mile! Weird. Anyhow checked in and went straight to the bar, where we met up with Steve, my friend from the OZ bus between Melbourne and Adelaide, great guy. And we took over the Bar and the pool table, watch out Danny, my pool playing ability has increased tenfold! Being in such a god mood, and enjoying oneself seems to draw people in, and we soon had two other guys with us, Brain, real name Ben and Sean, both English and a really good laugh. Upon proceeding back to my room to freshen up, met a lovely little Canadian girl called Emily, and she decided to come out with us too.
Now everyone says Auckland is really boring but I beg to differ, I had a great time, dancing and drinking. A great lads night out, something I hadn't had for a long while! Getting in a 4am and someone had stolen my bed...typical! Anyhow I left the next morning, still intoxicated to do a free tour of Auckland with the Kiwi Experience Bus, is was hard work being so hung over but good fun. We saw the old Volcanoes, and brilliant views of the sky tower from a distance, before heading to the harbour Bridge for people to Bungy. This is something I am saving for Queenstown!
So knackered but really enjoyed the trip, so decided to book on the bus for the South Island. I now have a massive Dance Festival to attend tonight, with the gang. Have never been to one before, but am open to new experiences so why not, knackered but buzzing I shall watch Judge Jules and 100 other DJ's play music I am not really into. This could be an experience!
Next stop Summerdays, Auckland Dance Festival!
