It was a gorgeous English spring day so we decided to do a London Walks Tour in the Cotswolds. We met up with Kelly and took the train from Paddington and arrived in Kingham where we jumped onto a chartered bus. We got a bit of a run down on the history of the Cotswolds and arrived just outside our first town - Chipping Campden, so that we could do a short walk into the village via a public bridleway. This was a reasonably sized village and we walked around the town a little, hearing about how all the different buildings were previously used and visiting a little covered market that has been in operation since the 1600s. We then found a nice little tea room for some lunch and a glass of wine. After exploring the inside of a church at Chipping Campden we jumped on the coach again and headed towards our next village. We had a little walk to Upper Slaughter (I know the most bizarre names!) where we passed the former 'Manor House' of the village (now worth a cool £20 million) and some old barns and farm houses. Next up was Lower Slaughter where we walked across some paddocks before stopping in for an ice-cream. A short coach ride later and we were back in Kingham where the tour concluded. Not a bad way to spend a sunny Sunday at all!
