Pilbara Poem
By Olivia Darcey
The dust is red
But so is our bed
Too many people for the car
And the problem is we are going quite far
.
So we bring another one
That doubles up the fun
We see some mulla mulla on the side of the road
And we also see a cane toad
.
Lots and lots of iron ore
Fidge cooks some slice I just want more
We catch some yabby
Their tails are flabby
.
The dog called Nullarbor
Had a saw paw
It was only a prickle
After Archie gave me a tickle.
.
Champagne for Fidge
Timmy got it out of the fridge
POP! sizzle it went
The lid got a bit bent
Birthday cake blue and black
After my first piece I went back
.
I played with a chicken called Mrs Brown
She was a bit dirty so I put her down
Lots of eggs
Chasing chickens hurt my legs
Baby chicks just 4 weeks old
Their mother was bright and bold
.
We watched Archie play foot ball
There was a boy that was REALLY tall
We went to a Gorge called Weano
After, Mum had a cappuccino
We had a slushy it was yummy
It filled up my tummy
.
It was a sad last day
We had to go away
When it was time to go
We took a photo
Then drove real slow
We head to Exmouth
That is south
