In the morning got the bus to the Pompidou Centre. Just beside the bus stop was a Nike shop. I was dragged inside. George bought a tee shirt and I wasn't letting him away with that so I got a tee shirt too. Then we actually visited the centre. Interesting building.
After that we walked to Notre Dame where we'd arranged to meet Tom McKinlay, a friend of mine from University who now lives near Paris. Can't believe how easily we recognised each other after 42 or 43 years. We had a nice lunch and some wine while discussing our lives in the intervening years. Plenty to talk about. Over two hours later we left the restaurant and said good bye. We were on our way to go into Notre Dame when the skies opened. A 15 minute absolute downpour. It fairly dispersed the queue of people waiting to get in. When the rain stopped we got in with very little queuing. It is some place.
Decided to go back to hotel early and get packed so that we wouldn't have to rush back and could have a relaxing last evening in Paris. Thoroughly enjoyed our day so far. Only disappointment was that Tom and I were so busy reminiscing and chatting that we forgot to get a photo taken together! That will now have to wait till our next time in Paris or Tom's next visit to Scotland!
Again some photos will have to wait till we get home to download them off the camera.
