We were warned about the large numbers of sharks as soon as we arrived, so decided against swimming. Happened to see a few dead ones washed up on the shore too. On the last day however, heaps of campers were swimming about in the waves without anyone being bitten, so think we might have been a bit over cautious. Everyone was happy to have arrived at the coast after being inland since the start of the trip. Humidity and temperature drop was significant, and made it much more fun for the girls outdoors. Costs for a camp site in WA certainly seem to be high compared to other places in Aus. Regardless a nice camp by the Fitzroy with plenty of wallabies, and some tree frogs to entertain the girls. Headed off in the morning believing the Bungles camp ground was closed for the season so we were planning a roadside night. We decided to take a look at the camp ground just out of curiosity and luckily while sitting pondering our next move the care takers came out and let us in. Initial draft itinerary had us stopping at Timber Creek but we pushed the girls and made it a few kms further. Timber Creek didn't really look too exciting on the way through. Kununurra proved a great central point to explore El Questro and Lake Argyle. Stayed at Discovery Park on the edge of Lake Kununurra.
