Headed off in the morning believing the Bungles camp ground was closed for the season so we were planning a roadside night. We decided to take a look at the camp ground just out of curiosity and luckily while sitting pondering our next move the care takers came out and let us in. Really nice spot with the humidity decreased and lots of wildlife spotting. A resident bull was a new one.
Next day was a long 2 hour drive on corrugated road with several water crossings just to get to the rangers office. Cathedral Gorge was the 1st stop. Only 1 hour return but the heat really got to the girls. We walked back via the Domes walk and then drove to Echidna Chasm (my favourite). Very unique and cool trail, with narrow track surrounded by high walls. Pretty epic day with a lot of car time but thoroughly enjoyed. A second night at the camp ground made for a relaxing evening.
