Initial draft itinerary had us stopping at Timber Creek but we pushed the girls and made it a few kms further. Timber Creek didn't really look too exciting on the way through.
Kununurra proved a great central point to explore El Questro and Lake Argyle.
Stayed at Discovery Park on the edge of Lake Kununurra. Girls tried their hand at fishing, and we manged to reel in a few catfish. The elusive red claw couldn't be found and our yabby nets only caught turtles, despite lots of bait advice from the local caretaker. The park had a resident crocodile who would turn up riverside for a feed each evening, and the girls enjoyed trying to spot him/her each evening.
Emma's Gorge in El Questro was a highlight, although a bit of a hike for Alex to get to. Picturesque waterfall and cool swimming spot, with warm spring at one edge. A few snake spottings on the path didn't however impress Danni or Jaime.
Jaime unfortunately developed a minor ear infection, so we finished up our stay with a trip to emergency for some treatment. No swimming for a while!
All completely eaten by mosies, though Ash definitely winning the race with his big red ankles. Time to move on.
