We were warned about the large numbers of sharks as soon as we arrived, so decided against swimming. Happened to see a few dead ones washed up on the shore too.
On the last day however, heaps of campers were swimming about in the waves without anyone being bitten, so think we might have been a bit over cautious.
Regardless had a great few days combing the beach for shells, had some friendly neighbors who helped remove a huntsman from our tent, and enjoyed sunsets by the beach.
