Hello people,
Well as you can see, im also down south on the island of Koh Tao. After some careful thought and consideration I decided to leave out Laos and head down here with the hope of doing my scuba certificate. The journey down here was probably the longest I have ever travellled to get somewhere. 12 hours by coach to Bangkok, 12 hour wait in Bangkok, 10 hour coach to Chumporn and 3 hour ferry to island.....I got here and didnt know what day it was, ha ha. Koh Tao is a very nice place, as I arrived on the ferry the sun actually came out and has stayed out since. I got bunrned at 9am on the deck of the ferry, yep, 9am, my english skin couldnt handle it :( Today I started my PADI Open Water Scuba Qualification, it was such a boring first day, in a room, watching THREE videos....ZZZzzzzz the only cool thing about day 1 was the fact we got to set up our equipment on our own, which was daunting at first but its actually quite simple. Our instructor has this rule, if someone makes a mistake (like leaving the dust cap off the nozzle) then thats an automatic beer for everyone (that u buy) and he seems to be applying this to a lot things, im jst thinking he wants to get drunk for free for the next 3 nights, mistakes are bound to happen!! Anyhow, my course takes me up to Saturday then on sunday I head to Krabi for 1 night, then fly to Kuala Lumpur then onto Bali where I shall be for just 2 days before heading to Sydney to settle for a bit.
Right i'll leave it there for now, i'll let you all know how the scuba goes!
Daniel.
