Ok, so i wave bye to Dan and set off on the coach from Bangkok to Ko Lanta, an island on the south west coast for some relaxation. We leave at 7pm and are told it should be a 14 hour trip to Krabi the port on the mainland where we pick up a ferry to the island. It was prob the most comfortable ride so far even though it was a long stretch with no sleep due to the spanish couple next to me chatting the entire way.

Arriving at 10am the next day in Krabi we are taken to the ferry port where im told that my boat will be leaving in 1 hour and a mini bus is due to pick me up. 1pm and im still sitting in the port when we are finally called to board the bus. Now what I should be used to by now is when travel arrangements are made to always take them with a pinch of salt, however the next few hours were a complete joke. I boarded the bus and thought that we would be driving straight onto the ferry. Instead we drove for 30mins to another port where I was told to change bus so we could drive to another port where I was left and said another bus will pick me up. 2 hours later im still sitting there thinking am i ever going to get to the island or destined to spend my time on a bench. The 3rd bus arrived and it was an hour drive to another port where we boarded the first of two ferries. From here on it went well but slow and finally I arrived on the island a good 36 odd hours after I woke in Bangkok.

Anyway I hunted around for some cheap accommodation and found the Riviera Resort,. Private bungalow right on the beach with a pool. Great a few days to chill and get over this flu/cold that has been hanging around for two weeks now. I got a bite to eat and pretty much went straight to bed. I spent the next 3 days laying by the pool and beach. A group of Canadian guys turned up and hired a yuk tuk, they invited me to drive around the island with them for the afternoon. Well we looked like a right bunch of idiots all stuffed into the back of the motorbike/taxi.

The final night I headed out to dinner with a few people from the resort and spenrt the night in the bar. Tomorrow im checking out and taking the ferry/ferry/bus/night ferry to Ko Tao, well thats the plan.
