Day 12 -Etosha NP - Windhoek (450 KM):

Leaving Etosha was another early start - We were still on watch for the ever elusive Leopard ……. but no sign yet.

A long day's driving with a stop for provisions, made longer by Heinrich (volleyball belly) stocking up for a siege despite the fact that we had another stop scheduled in two days time ……. He eventually returned with a full trolley and a security escort.

Arrived to the capital of Namibia Windhoek in the afternoon, where we did a quick stop in the centre of town to take a few photos before we continued to our accommodation for the night Arebbusch Travel Lodge. ….. Good pool - Welcome after a sweaty day in the truck.

All the main streets in Windhoek are named after political leaders …. Nelson Mandella, Robert Mgabwe, Fidel Castro, Sean McBride etc. …. Will need to research Sean.

Tom (the American) had a slight crisis :

Me…..Tom what's the problem?

Tom … All you guys have got chalets in the seventies and eighties and mine is 18 - Hell, I don't even know where that is, must be miles away, I'll need a freaking cab - Have ya seen the size of my bag?

Me …. Can I see your key Tom? …. Tom it's upside-down, this is 81 not 18.

Tom … Well go figure …. Why they give me an upside-down key?

In the evening the group split in 2 since there were 2 options for dinner (either to stay at the lodge or go into town).

We opted to go to town to Jobie's House …… It turned out to be Joe's Beer House(Heather must be right about my hearing)

Six of the German's opted to join us and the rest stayed behind …… Our gang was growing and the guide and driver changed their minds and came with us too.

Great place, great food, great night and we finished off having a mini party back at the lodge …… having recruited 6 rebels there are now 8 of us.
