Firstly upon arriving in Townsville we realised that it's not good to be there on a Sunday and a Monday as NOTHING is open!!!! However the Reffl Lodge hostel that we stayed in was really nice. IT had a quaint hippy vibe to it. WE walked along the marina "strand" and down to Kiss PoInt along the beach, Again it was no use going in the water as the stiingers are really bad here. We went to a Rock Pool over-looking the cliffs to Magnetic Island and sat and read our books dangling our feet in the pool. This town is pretty much a place to go and get the connecting ferry to Magnetic Island so if, like us, you do not go to the island you are alittle suck for things to do. However it was nice to relax and read and watch tv for a change!!!!

there are lots of geckos around they are so sweet...
