The cattle station was immense! One of the the funniest and surreal things we've done on our trip. Definately exceeded expectations. We arrived at 12.30 and it was a bush tucker lunch and then straight to business on the ranch. One group could go goat mustering on horse back while the other group could go quad biking on the farming track which would take about 3 hours. Of course we chose the speedy manly bikes! lol. It was so much fun and by the end once we'd navigated the quads it was fifth gear most of the way and dirty brown dust tashes at the finish line lol.
Next it was the goat mustering. We were put in teams to compete against each other for the fastest time to catch, flip, brand and release the goat out of the bull ring. All in good jest though with no harm done to the goats lol. Our team 'Billy Jean' won in 53 seconds! Whoop! maybe a new career venture is on the cards lol. It was a great laugh and proceeded to be on the night when we tried our hands at the mechanical bull rodeo- A shameful attempt on my part but I'm blaming the shock to the system as my downfall lol. We also picked up some cowboy skills, learning to lassue and crack a whip from Jonathon the typical Aussie bush rancher- really cool guy!
We were sad to leave because the easy, basic ranch life was so different from everything else and really good fun.
