THURSDAY 7th JUNE 2012
PARIS DAY TWO
This morning we had a bit of sleep in and were back on the bus for another tour of the city! Again the chaotic traffic held us up for a while and we slowly covered some the stuff we saw last night, the sights just as impressive during the day!!!!
We had a guided tour of the Notre Dame Cathedral, and then had some spare time to have a wander and get a roll for lunch! Used my very limited French to order it quite successfully! And order some extra hot milk for Mumsies coffee!
By this time it was raining very heavily and by the time we had got our fast track tickets in to see the Eiffel Tower we were drenched! There were literally thousands of people waiting to get into the elevators, and it took a while before we ascended to the third level of this iconic landmark!
The rain spoilt the views somewhat but we got a few snaps before a torrential downpoor had us scurrying back off the viewing platform! Had another lengthy wait get down, typically in the French way, one lift was not operating and company maintaining it had gone broke! So they were waiting for parts from China!!!!!
Back early to the hotel and a change into some good gear, before heading to the Le Nouvelle Eva, a variety, cabaret show which is a replacement for the Moulin Rouge which unfortunately is not available for us!
The dinner and show was a beauty! Nice meal and the dancers, both clothed and topless, were amazing! Towards the end the pretty hot, main singer and dancer chose four blokes out of the audience for a little dance competition, and guess who was one of the four! Yep! You guessed it! An extremely embarrassed Rosey was the third contestant and while I put on a pretty good show, I got pipped by a Kiwi! Our group gave me a hellava ovation which I was very thankful for, but I missed out on the kisses and cuddles from a topless dancer!!!! b*****, b*****, b*****!
I got immediate star status from our mob, hi fives from Maurizzio and a poultice of abuse for not winning! Great fun all round and a really beaut night! An experience not to be forgotten - dancing on stage at La Nouvelle Eve in Paris - in front of two hundred and fifty people!!!!!!
Back at the hotel we had a nightcap to end the night and finish an amazing couple of days in Paris!
Tomorrow it is off to the famous wine region of Bordeaux, and a chance to see some French countryside and maybe taste a red wine or two!
