After the encounter with the taxi on Monday morning, we decided to get the Metro to get to the departure point for our Champagne Region Tour - it all went fine, including a line change, until we came up the wrong exit and took off down a street which we suddenly realised was not the Rue Des Pyramides at all! Day Five and we spent the day doing some more exploring, braving the Metro to get to the Lourve - we only went 2 stops in the wrong direction before realising our mistake - and then seeing the Opera House before finishing at Galleries Lafayette. The shops there were all ultra exclusive and we soon headed back to our digs to do some laundry. Tomorrow we are off out into the country again to visit the Champagne Wine Region on a guided tour!

Had a very early start this morning as we caught a taxi over to the Rue de Pyramides to start our tour to the Somme Battlefields.It wasn't a good start as the taxi driver was the rudest arse you could imagine and it took all my will power not to abuse the crap out of him! AND the 4.5km ride cost us €17.5!! There were 20 of us on the tour - 18 Aussies and 2 Americans - and we set out on the 2 hour drive in a small coach with an English girl as our guide....
