Monday we headed up to the Blue Mountains and went and checked out the lookouts, stunning scenery. At the Three Sisters lookout, it was so busy, tourist everywhere. We were lucky to get DABUS into the closest carpark to the lookout and to top off our luck, the ticket machine we were near was spitting out tickets. So a bonus that we didn't even have to pay for the parking...We finished off the day at the Bull's Rest area at Woodford, were we saw a very active red belly black snake...The night was freezing, woke up to 0.7 degrees......
The next day we drove into Penrith for some shopping and then hit the coast at Otford. What amazing views, where the mountains reach the ocean and the road weaves it's way over the ocean....Stopped here for lunch, taking in the views.....
Driving the coastal road the views were fantastic, we stopped the night at at Nungarry Rest area north of Kiama....
On arriving at Kiama, we both stated how stunning this town was......off we went to check out the blowhole...on leaving Kiama behind we came into some rain and had rain all the way to Mollymook....Again another stunning town, but would be even more impressive if the weather was nice and sunny.....We stopped the night at the Mollymook Beach Car park.....
Thursday we arrived into Batemans Bay and met up with Garry & Tania for great seafood lunch.....Garry and Lorelle have know each other for 10 years, through work, and had never met face to face....It was so nice to finally met after all these years and to met Tania also...After lunch we spent the afternoon doing all our computer and phone updates via Telstra Air....
Before heading out of town the next day, we realised that we hadn't taken a photo with Garry & Tania, so we headed to their house for a quick catch up and to get the photo...
We decided to take the Tourist drive which took us along the coast.....fantastic scenery...
On arriving at Bodalla we went into the Bodalla Dairy Cheese factory, which Tania had recommended. Yes we certainly stocked up on some beautiful cheeses and some flavoured milk...We did a slight detour to a historical town called Tilba Tilba which was a great little town. We walked the town and bought some local fudge....The day finished off seeing the sights of Bermagui before finding our free camp just 6km north of Bermagui in the bush...
Continuing on the coastal road we stopped at Tathra and had a look around, then onto Merimbula and stopping for lunch at Pambula Beach. It was great to enjoy the water, sun and sand.....We went through Eden and stopped the night at rest area near the Wonboyn turn off. Driving down the track to the rest area, we came across a motorhome coming out of the area and the driver stated that it was only a logging track....Thank god we didn't listen to him and we continued on our way down the track, only to find a massive rest area with toilets, tables, fire pits and heaps of wood....Boy did they miss out on a great stopover....
Sunday we went into Wonboyn to have a look at this quaint little coastal village.....Driving further down the Princess Highway we finally entered Victoria, our home state. Gee.....we are getting close to home.....
We stopped the night at Mallacoota, staying at a beach for the night...Today we booked into.....dare we say it....a CARAVAN PARK.....and waited for Clive to arrive....Clive is bringing up Alan's boat, so we can travel back home and catch up on some fishing......Here's hoping the fishing is great......
