Darwin at last.

Pat and I have set up in the Free spirit Resort until we decide which park will be best for us. Pat has come down with a really nasty type of flu. How do you tell your new boss you have to take the day off because you are sick, well he took it quite well as there are a few sick with it in the office.

I have been driving Pat to work & picking him up for the past week until the worst of the flu is over. Darwin is a very easy city to navigate, I am getting used to travelling on a road at 100km that has traffic lights. During the weekend we have been looking around the area. Had breakfast at Stokes Wharf.

Went to the Mindl Beach markets, many different types of food stalls with street entertainment. One particular group were playing called EMDEE, they had a very unique sound that we found easy to listen to.

We found a new shopping centre today that I need to explore. I am waiting to hear about a few jobs I have put my resume into. I have't been able to see the people at Randstad yet as they have had the flu also.

I am adjusting to the heat suprisingly well, there seems to be a nice breeze blowing most of the time. The park has 3 pools, & Bistro. There has been a little excitment here at the park, the attendants came knocking on the door the other night and they asked if we would make sure our cars were locked as 5 prisoners had excaped from the prison about 4.5km away. There were road blocks all over the place.

The other day they asked us to water down our annex and caravan as there was a fire not far away and cinders were blowing in the breeze landing all around us. The smoke was pretty thick all around us too. But the fire brigade was able to put it out without it getting any closer to us.
