If we told you lunch for the 7 of us at the end of our tour today was spit roasted suckling pig on the banks of a crystal clear running stream in a tropical rain forest listening to a Cuban music trio what sort of day do you reckon we would have had?
You guessed it AMAZING!!!!
Tour of a manual labour coconut processing cooperative, walking tour of a small private farm of mango, pineapples, coriander, bananas etc etc, rainforest walk near the sea, row boat ride along a river, walk along an Atlantic Ocean beach, visit to private home on the beach where a 95 year old man scaled a coconut palm, swim in 2 rivers then the lunch.
Baracoa is a must for any visitor to Cuba - small, friendly town surrounded by rainforest, rivers and the ocean - where Cuba was discovered by CC in 1500's and has kept many of the indigenous Cuban traditions since there was no road to the town until 1965 (only sea or air access)
Snack for tea watching the baseball playoffs at a local bar and a few mojitos and beers and a bit of music just for something different
