CRICKET DAY!!!!
Up early with room service breakfast at 6 and ready to leave the ship by 8. Roseau full of brightly colored buildings and looks great from the ship because it is on the coast with tropical greenery and palms covering the mountains behind it. Wandered through the narrow streets to the beautiful shaded Botanical Gardens on the way to the stadium (only 15 minutes walk from the dock). Got some sandwiches made at a local shop on the way ( the guy was a musician and had been to Adelaide to perform at WomAdelaide).
Anyhow enough of all this crap - today is about the cricket. Great seats, modern stadium (built with Chinese $) and beautiful cool breeze on a sunny day with a few clouds. Aussies went from 7/212 to all out 328 in the first session and Wade made 100. We left just after tea and the Aussies had the West Indies 4/85. Great atmosphere with music, horns, bells etc. We were amongst locals who were passionate about their cricket and included us so much. The rum started to take over late in the day but they were still amazingly friendly and inclusive though one local said it needs to get hotter so the Aussies bake in the sun so the West Indies can win. Beers $2 hand delivered at your seat - great fun and a special experience for us
Rum punch at a bar on the way back to the ship then a few more grogs on the ship before the 7pm show and dinner booked at 8.30pm
Grenada tomorrow and no plans at this stage but we probably could do with a relatively quiet day I reckon

Lyndon Nothing beats a day at the cricket in the West Indies Not only did you have a greatday but you turned the game Auatralias way
Alan & Virginia Wew were lucky enough to sit amongst some passionate WI fans who loudly and constantly commented on the game , included us and slowly got pissed on the rum. Comment as the Aussies got on top "it needs to get hotter so the Aussies bake in the sun"
