Crew Frivolous
Happy Fathers Day
Marty and Jenny were up at 4.30am and headed home early to beat the rush. The remaining four vehicles now packed headed for the main road. Not far up the road Paul pulled the 100 series over and investigated a funky front end noise. It sounded like the CV joint had some issues. Melissa and Shayne decided they would hang back with Paul, Belinda and Liam. They headed back to town where the mechanic was. Joe, Jen, Colin & Wendy headed for home as the boys were on a dead line to get back to work.
We stopped some 3 hours later at the Mungerannie Pub for a cold beer. While there we spotted Jenny Dykes lock of hair pinned to the roof. This is apparently the thing to do and Jen did on their way to Birdsville.
Late in the arvo we did a drive through Leigh Creek but decided to continue on to Hawker. We booked into the Big4 caravan park. We could certainly feel that we were heading south. We all showered and dressed ourselves in long pants and jumpers, something we had not done in 3 months. Tea time had the four of us in Joe and Jens' Vista. It was tight but very cosy and warm. A couple of shots to warm the insides up and it was off to bed.
