Absolutely awesome, all I gotta say. Pretty much got there, dropped my bags, changed into my riding gear, and was on the horse within 15 minutes, and jumping cross country fences 20 minutes after that. Made it through my first half marathon!!!! The half started at 9am and it was perfect weather; overcast and a lovely 18C, though the humidity was a little high. Made it easily to the 16th kilometre, but the last lap was a little brutal. Times aren't posted yet, but I'm pretty sure I made it in under 2:15. Travel day today, a relatively easy one too! Spent my morning wandering around a drizzling Galway before taking a bus. First rain I've had, hopefully it's not raining too much in the future. Today was spent exploring the Connamara region, lots of green rolling hills, many smaller lakes and bog areas where apparently peat comes from (what a lot of people burn for heat). Finally made it to Galway and pretty much crashed the minute I got there, but up and about this morning! Booked a tour to the Aran Islands, in particular Inishmoor.
