Absolutely awesome, all I gotta say. Pretty much got there, dropped my bags, changed into my riding gear, and was on the horse within 15 minutes, and jumping cross country fences 20 minutes after that. Four days of incredible horses over a great course and mostly good weather, lol. There were a couple days we were soaked through on one of the rides (Two cross country trips every day at 10am and 1:30pm with a hack in between, and just enough time to grab a bite in between!)
With a few notable exceptions, these horses were hunt horses rather then eventers; with obvious draft in them, they were built heavier and tougher to handle hunting foxes every year. I gotta say, a fox hunt trip is definitely on the list after this!!! And as a note to self if I ever make it back to Flowerhill, favourite horses, in order, are Marble, Quatro and Kappagh.
Ridiculously sore, and a little sad to go, we're heading back to Galway to start the next portion of the trip.
PS Next time I do something like this where a camera is just to feasible, buy and bring a god damn go pro!
