Monte Oliveto Maggiore / Buonconvento. 3rd September 2011.

Wow, we get an extra half an hour sleep this morning before breakfast. The reason we start the walks early is to end the walk before the heat of the day.

The day started with a shuttle transfer to the 14th century Abby di Monte Oliveto Maggiore. The Church itself is beautiful and the Abby has some magnificent art work.

Only 7 out of the 11 of us do the 10 kilometer walk from this Abby, the others return to the Agriturismo.

The walk covers undulating valleys, cedar pines, farm houses and we also visit the small town of Chiusure. Farms can be seen along the way.
We stop for Lunch before continuing the walk which finally reaches a water hole The Pieve and Salti Restauarant, where we all are in need of a drink.

Finally we returned to our accommodation to cool of in the swimming pool!

For dinner it's back to the Pieve & Salti Restauarant. Buona Cena.
