Our last day in Stockholm and Keith is so under the weather that he slept all day. I stayed with him until noon thinking he'd get better after a nap, but he finally insisted I venture out to see more of the city. Armed with my mass transit pass and a city map, I first venture to the city center to catch the trolley, even though the map shows it there, it's really five or so blocks away. After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we set out to figure out the cities mass transit system. Bought our "pensioners " tickets at the 7/11 across the street from the hotel and boarded the bus to the city center. Then took the escalators three to four stories down to catch the train to the wharf. The subway is a free museum for art. There were statues on the walls,unbelievable mosaic work, and other marvels. Welcome to Stockholm Early morning as we had to leave at 6:45am to catch our plane to Stockholm. We were met at the airport by Cecilia who gave us a three hour bus tour of the city which included a walking tour of Old Town and the highest point to take great city photos. Our room at the Scandia Grand is on the fourth floor, very nice but very tiny compared to some of our other rooms during this trip, but since this is a historic hotel in the center of the city ...

Another great day of sunshine in Norway. We first headed to Holmenkollen ski jump where we could see the blue and the green and the city between. Next on the tour was the Vikingshipshuset where the Viking ships and burial artifacts from boat graves around the Oslo fjord are displayed. First full day in Oslo, after a leisurely breakfast we boarded our coach for a morning tour and headed off to Vigelandsparken, the unique sculpture park representing the life works of Gustav Vigeland. It has over 200 bronze and granite sculptures and over 400 other works. Vigeland also designed the layout and design of the park.
