Welcome to Stockholm
Early morning as we had to leave at 6:45am to catch our plane to Stockholm. We were met at the airport by Cecilia who gave us a three hour bus tour of the city which included a walking tour of Old Town and the highest point to take great city photos. Our room at the Scandia Grand is on the fourth floor, very nice but very tiny compared to some of our other rooms during this trip, but since this is a historic hotel in the center of the city and renovations are hard to do, we are very pleased since we are within walking distance of most of the attractions we wish to see.
First order of business is to visit the local drug store, Apoteket, for cold medicine as both Keith and I are suffering and being sick in a foreign city is not fun. After the medicine and a nap, we ventured on a walking tour of the city and enjoyed ice cream and iced lemonade at McDonalds, FYI, it's not your normal McDonalds.
Walking home we encountered the "white hat" seniors who are celebrating the end of school by drinking a tad too much and renting big flat bed trucks and riding around town in large groups whooping it up.
