We took the Metro bus from the Amber Park campground to the Christchurch city center. Yesterday was census day in NZ. Even visitors had to fill out a form so they could count us. Today in Timaru was fine, which is how they describe beautiful weather. Timaru comes from the Maori word meaning "place of shelter." It is a thriving port city.We started our day by visiting the South Canterbury Museum in the Pioneer Hall on Perth Street. The town of Lake Tekapo is at the southern end of Lake Tekapo. Our campground was located at a beautiful setting on the lake.After a walk around the small town, we went to the lakeside to take some photos of beautiful Lake Tekapo.
