We left Yulara travelling with the Rentschs around 10.30am, stopped off at Curtain Springs to re-fuel then on to our roadside camp 50km East of Kings Canyon.We all set up camp & collected some firewood, Charlie went off & built a magnificent castle out of rocks while we went over & spoke to some Canadian backpackers.The Canadian girl Tess was a hairdresser & offered to cut the kids hair for $10 each, Tommy, Mitch, Makayla, & Flick got haircuts...

We all drove out to Uluru in time to do the Ranger guided talk at the Rock, it went for about an hour & a half & was quite interesting. The Rock was opened for climbing at 12pm after the morning wind had died down, I decided not to climb as I had climbed it once before, Mitch & Tommy were keen so Tric went with them, Mandy also climbed with them, Mick & I stayed back to look after the girls & Charlie. It took Tric, Mandy,Tommy & Mitch 1....

Off to the Rock! We left our campsite at 8.30 am, the boys were very excited when we saw Mt Connor in the distance as they thought it was Ayers Rock, the same as I did 27 years ago! We rolled into the Yulara camp ground around 12ish, the Caravan Park was full so we camped in the overflow area which was fine as we had enough water & our solar panels to keep the battery topped up,also it was only $10 per night compared to $50 in the CV Park. We left Coober Pedy for Erldunda, the turn off for Uluru, we crossed into the Northern Territory mid arvo, the boys were very excited as they had never been to NT before. We pulled up to camp about 15km west of Erldunda at a great camp well off the road the boys & I collected wood for a camp fire the following night.
