Breakfast was Sausages cooked on the barbie courtesy of Nick. The novelty of having the BBQ is too much for him so god help us all. Billy escaped this culinary delight by having fruit bread and Heymish had a roll up! Strange child!
After brekko Billy decided we should go to Hilarys boat harbour. It's really pretty. Bit 'jaws' like. Perfect scene for a disaster movie. Pretty little harbour, busy little beach, kids playing in the sea. Need I saw more? First stop, coffee and churros. I feel like all I've done is eat and drink since we arrived. No change there then! We had a wander round and I got some good pics. My favourite being a little boat that had 'Living the dream' painted on the side. Summed it all up really. We had a little drive up the coast to Scarborough and saw when Bill and Rich lived when they first arrived. Before we came out here I struggled to understand why they would want to live here, so far away from us. Having seen it, I am starting to understand. I still want them back home with us, I will never stop wanting the back, but its lovely here and I can certainly see the attraction. I'm glad they're happy. Its just a shame its so far away.
After scouring every inch of the harbour we popped to Bunnings, which is a bit like B&Q. They are taking us to all the best places! Bill has her eye on a hammock so we needed to go and see it. Rich looked at fire pits and Bill managed to take a liking to the dearest one in the place. Much to my amusement and Richards bemusement! On the way out we had to have our bags checked which I thought was strange. Did they think we had a hammock and a fire pit stashed in there?
From there we headed to 'the shops at Ellenbrook' and poor Rich looked like he was giving up the will to live. We were meant to be popping into Coles for supplies but ended up in the shoe shop. Nick bought Rich a pair of flip flops he didnt want and Bill and Kadie managed to tap Rich for new shoes. Nicely done. I must have been a bit slow on the uptake cos I didnt buy anything!
After filling the trolley with s***e in Coles we got to the check out and then we girls slipped off and left the boys to pay. We were bound for Liquor land. The supermarkets dont sell booze so you have to go to a seperate shop. 3 bottles of white for me, a rose for Bill and we were homeward bound. No time to rest of our laurels tho. Fiona has a sun lounger I can borrow so we were off in Richards truck to collect it.
When we got back we had a dip in the freezing cold pool. Me in the pool, Billy in the spa and the boys on the roof trying to mend the evap. After such an action packed day a nice calm easy dinner was in order. Much to Kadies amusement we had cheese and crackers, grapes and wine. All very civilised! Everyone decided an evening in front of the tele was the order of the day. Not wishing to conform I have opted for staying outside to write. It's dark and warm and so quiet. There's an occasional bark from a neighbourhood dog and the cheerful little 'chirruping' of the grasshoppers. I am absorbing every last detail. Kenny G and Jimmy Fontana's il mondo are wafting out of my ipad giving the perfect soundtrack to the montage of memories that I'm making in my mind.
