DAY 4 - Headed for Lake Keepit, found an awesome camping spot that had been looked after by a local fisherman group. They had an undercover area with tables & chairs, showers and a long drop. It was a bloody hot day so we were thankful to be next to the Lake!! We got chatting with the other people camping there: Andy, Matt, Beau, William and Buster the Dog. They were all locals from around the area and often went to Lake Keepit to camp & fish. We ended up drinking & chatting with them until 1am in the morning then thought we should head to the swag as we had to be up the next morning early to go to the Jillaroo/Jackaroo Course. We were rudely awakened at 5am to the sound of really strong wind and could see something on the roof of the car?? We didn't tie down the awning so it flew over the car, snapping the end of the poles (nothing that a little tape couldn't fix). Lesson learnt…..Tie down the awning!!!!
Andy and co told us about tiger pear bushes that are around NSW and have barbed spikes that stick in you and the only way to get them out is by digging them out or to rip them out with pliers!! What the hell?!?
