Hello!
Our time in Airlie is coming to an end now and we can finally start to travel somewhere. We are both leaving work as of next week and plan to do a little jetskiing before we head off to Cairns, where I want to persuade Claire to visit many of the waterfalls.
The locals have all said we've been pretty lucky with the weather, as a year ago they suffered with terrible flooding, yet this year have seen very little rain. The rainy and cyclone season is about to start however, so we're finishing up in the north before heading south again where it is meant to be wonderful in the summer, however they've had the flooding.
We're both very excited to be back on the road again and have many plans in mind. We've had a great time here sailing the whitsundays and the reef, diving, visiting whitehaven, jetskiing, tubing, visiting cedar creek falls and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world!
I plan to update the photos, however I lost my camera charger so it's been out of commission for some time. I plan to steal other people's photos and pretend they are mine while I get mine sorted.
Had a great Christmas here although it was odd with the weather. We all went to the beach and had one of the biggest barbeques I've seen. Swimming in the sea and teasing each other about sharks and spending a lot of time floating in the lagoon (or sinking). New year was a gorgeous day too. Live bands and fireworks on the beach at midnight. Perfect way to end the year. I shall put the photos up soon.
We've both made some great friends here and will be sad to leave them, but we definitely look forward to work free travelling.
Will keep you updated about where we are and what we are doing. At the moment we are due back home on the 30th of June, but that could all change!
Miss you all.

Elaine Hi Lisa and Claire I had almost given up on you updating this blog Lisa. Typical of you getting behind on your homework! Sounds like you are going to some great places so enjoy. By the way, you can't come home 'cos we've filled your room up with junk and turned off the radiator. Speak soon Mum xxx
