Hello everyone!
I haven't updated in a long time but we're still in Airlie, so not much changes. Claire is still living and working on the Island and I am still at Fun rentals. We're attempting to save and it isn't going too badly.
I'm living in a house now with Iona from Cambridge and Danni from Germany along with two guys. It's great having my own room (althought it's more like a den under the stairs...but who cares, I have a double bed!) I've been catching up on a bit of TV and couch time, which isn't something I expected to do much of in Australia, but staying in one place for a long time means I was craving it.
I've been on a boat trip to the Whitsundays, which is where some of the pictures are from. It was great fun and everyone on the boat was amazing. I went snorkelling, to whitehaven beach which is beautiful and completed my first dive! I had to complete some skills before they would let us do it, but I managed it and I went around seven metres under water. It was a lot of fun and the instructor let us do some rolly pollys under there. I would love to do it again. A shark was also spotted not too far away from where we were snorkelling later that day and in the marina, which meant everyone got out of the water pronto, so I'm just glad I didn't come face to face with a hungry tiger shark! So for someone who said she wouldn't go in the water, I'm doing quite well. Everyone seems more concerned about jelly fish here more than anything.
Claire and I do spend some time together and we had a great day jetskiing. I would scream the entire time she was driving and then became a speed demon when it was my turn. We saw a giant turtle, which really was giant. We also went tubing, which I'm sure Claire will agree was one of the funnier things we've done. They put you on an inflateable and you lie down on it and hold on tight while the speed boat drags you along (similar to what me and dad stupidly did in Portugal, although we weren't sitting down). There was a very serious risk of one of us falling off, which I'm surprised didn't happen, but it was a lot of fun and we laughed and screamed the whole way and dealt with the injuries later!
We're missing everyone at home, and it's especially weird in the run up to Christmas. I'm missing the cold surprisingly and would love to see snow so I can roll around in it. It's so hot! It's muggy and unrelenting. Saw my first snake the other day (in a tree) and hope to avoid the rest of them. Other than that, there isn't much to report. I will try and update more often and stop being so lazy.
Love you all,
Lisa and Claire xx

Elaine Hi Lise Good talking to you today -and then I looked on here to find you had updated! I was taken by surprise. You might be missing the cold but I'd give you one day back here and make you get up in the dark at 7am to go to work -that would soon send you scuttling back to Oz. Keep enjoying it, keep eating your vegetables and keep details of dangerous exploits and beasties to yourself! Mum xxx
