Well, we left Australia, but not before some amazing sightseeing! We went to Fraser Island not long after leaving Bundaberg (and the less said about that the better) It's the biggest sand island in the world and has amazing lakes and sand dunes. We were lucky enough to get to drive our very own four by four and being speed demons we loved every minute of it. We camped in the wilderness with 28 other crazies including 12 mexicans...who were very lovely and even put us up in Melbourne when we left for Asia. We lived and worked in Sydney for two months after this, but not before seeing the Penguins at Phillip Island. They were cute but unfortunately no pictures of them.
We were sad to leave Oz and everyone we'd met along the way, but Asia is a whole new experience. I've been very slack with the blog considering we left Bundaberg what must have been 5 months ago now surely!
We arrived in Singapore and were immediately attracted to universal studios! We had a great day in the boiling heat going on all the rides and did the very touristy thing of getting pictures with everything...I'll upload the proof.
We didn't spend long in Singapore before we moved on to Kuala Lumpur. We saw the Petronas towers and marvelled at the amount of Gucci's you can fit into one city!
Before too long we made it to Thailand. We arrvied in Krabi, beaten and tired after the journey, but soon made plans for rock climbing, white water rafting and kayaking. This was an amazing time and rock climbing scared us both. Rafting was great, particularly our instructors after they decided to rugby tackle Claire into the water as a joke...
We went elephant trekking and realised how hard it really is to stay on top of it, and even got to take a ride on the elephants head! He was a naughty one though, apparently he never does as he's told!
We've been to Koh Phi Phi and had some parties, Samui for relaxation and dog bites and Koh Tao for diving. We are both certified divers and enjoyed the experience immensely, even after the panic of taking masks off and taking our regulators out!
We are currently on Koh Phangan, awaiting a full moon party and avoiding people from New Zealand that have currently stalked us from Krabi. Having fun and keeping safe. We're taking one crisis at a time and are looking forward to our next adventure in the north of Thailand and beyond.
I probably won't update until I get home...but I thought a little reminder that we have been doing other things than drinking out of buckets would have been good.
