Well, if we thought that Epcot was bad with crowds, we found worse. Animal Kingdom was packed. We decided that as we only had one Fast Pass booked, that we would get in line for the Kilimanjaro Safari. Wait time? 80 minutes. Yup, we lined up for 80 minutes to take a trip through the ‘savannah’ looking at some of the animals Africa has to offer. However, our driver was obviously in a bit of a rush; as soon as we saw an animal, he would pause, explain a little about the animal and drive straight off. Sometimes by the time we had seen the animal and got the camera to focus, he was driving off.
The Gorilla Walk was quite good, no lines and walk at your own pace. After that we had our Fast Pass to ‘Kali River Rapids’ where you are strapped in on a bit inflatable tyre thing and go majestically down a calm river. Well, we then saw that virtually everyone else on board were wearing raincoats. Not a good sign. We were taken up to the top of a slope and then shot down the river. There was one set of falls which did end up getting Matt quite wet.
We went over to ‘A Bug’s Life’ ride which unfortunately was closed for some reason so continued on to Pandora. As the shortest wait time here was 75 minutes, and we had a night time visit booked for later in the week, we simply admired their floating islands and went back to the hotel, again experiencing the joys of the Disney bus system.
Dinner over at Disney Springs was at an Irish Pub, complete with live music and tap dancing. Very enjoyable dinner.
