Well then. I got up earlier this morning to try to get some photos of Savannah with a sunrise. Of course it had to be raining. In fact, it rained for the duration of our time that we were in Georgia, and continued for part of our drive through Florida. The drive itself wasn’t too bad until we entered Orlando, and then the roadworks slowed us down considerably. Arriving at our hotel we were handed a massive pile of paperwork and vouchers that we can / have to use while we are here. That done, we went over to Disney Springs to have a look around and have dinner. The place used to be Downtown Disney, but it has certainly changed.
The number of people here would have trebled, and there are a lot more shops and restaurants than I remember. We eventually ended up on a paddle steamer which specialised in seafood. As in Disney, eat catfish!
We had passed a VR attraction called Void on the way to dinner and decided to try it. It was based on Star Wars and you were given a backpack, helmet with headphones and VR goggles based on the Oculus. Very enjoyable experience. We were Stormtroopers trying to get a secret package and had to shoot other Stormtroopers who got in our way. We walked through a planet base, opening doors and manipulating buttons, using our blasters when we could. It came to a crashing halt when we encountered Vader and he reflected all of our shots. However, we were able to successfully get the package and blast off back into hyperspace!
