The day after we went to Bondi had probably the clearest skies since we had arrived in Sydney, so we decided to visit the Sydney Tower Eye (the tallest building in the city) to get a birds eye view of the city and further afield. Our visit started with a 4D film off Sydney and the surrounding area, with great images complete with moving floors and smoke. We then got in a lift to go up to the observation deck, where we had some great views of the city. The sky was really clear, not a cloud anywhere, so we could see the Harbour (including the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge), out East as far as the Pacific Ocean, and West as far as the Blue Mountains. After we'd had our fill of looking at the view, we went down and had a walk around the CBD before going to a cafe in Hyde Park for lunch. While we were in the park we went inside the ANZAC War Memorial, which has loads of stars painted on the ceiling representing all the Australians who served in the First World War. We then had a quick walk around the Hyde Park Barracks and the Mint, some of the old buildings in Sydney, before walking back to our hotel through Woolloomooloo. The next day brought some more good weather, so we took a ferry ride through the harbour to Manly to go to the beach. The ferry took about 30 minutes to get there, and we had managed to get some outside seats at the very front of the boat so we had great views of the harbour as we travelled along. When we got to Manly we treated ourselves to lunch at an Italian restaurant (which had a special cheap lunch menu), before heading down to the beach for some sunbathing. We went for a swim here too, and it was much better than swimming at Bondi because the waves were a lot smaller and we could actually swim around a bit. But we still had loads of fun body surfing in the waves. After we had cooled off we went for a short walk along the coast before heading back through the Corso to catch a ferry back to the city - we managed to get more outside seats at the front of the boat but this time on the other side of the boat, so we could have views of the other side of the harbour. The next day was Sunday so we had a lie in, before walking through the Botanic Gardens to get some more pictures of the Opera House. When we got there we saw a big crowd standing around some stalls so we went to have a look, and found that it was a free Easter event being run by Cadbury's. so we had a walk around and managed to score ourselves some free Easter eggs! We then walked down to the waterfront at Circular Quay where we managed to get a seat at the Guylian Chocolate Cafe, so we treated ourselves to some delicious milkshakes while enjoying the views of the harbour.
