Day 2 of Paris Adventures- Today has been exhausting!
Sacre Coeur- This morning we set off for Sacre Coeur which is a beautiful Church at the top of a hill in Paris. After our morning croissant, we then got a wee packed lunch and started to walk towards the area. Half an hour later we were at the bottom of the hill, tired and burning (as usual). We had a bite to eat and a rest only to be interrupted by a French man asking if I was German first then when corrected asked if I was a designer..? We exchanged the usual "merci" blah blah and he left leaving us to try determine what just happened. Haha! Once at the top, we posed at a lovely fountain and then looked at the great view of Paris. I found it weird that there was men selling s***ey fake handbags and Eiffel Tower keyrings in front of such a holy building. Anyways, we had a look inside which was very similar to the Notre Dame but smaller and slightly less impressive. Many pictures to follow..
The Eiffel Tower- We then began the ridiculously long walk down the hill and through most of the city to the Eiffel Tower. Google that journey!!! We had to stop half way there for a beer as it got a little too much of course. It was a beer called Pelforth Brune (French) and tasted a little like my fav brewdog 5am Saint so I was chuffed. We then walked to the tower and waited in a queue for 45 mins before finally getting up to the 2nd floor. Becca was loving the glass lift, me on the other hand was making noises and feeling a little squeamish. I'm aware that people go up and down it every day and that it "has to be safe" but looking at the thing close up, it looks old and rickety!! We walked round the 2nd floor and joined the 45min queue for the summit to the top. This is where I realised that the floaty skirt I had chosen today was a serious mistake. I literally flashed my arse to the whole of Paris. It was so windy at the top on one side that I hid like a child cause I was scared I would blow away. So after the embarrassment, we had a lovely pint at the 2nd floor and chilled looking at the views! Amazing!
Moulin Rouge- Due to our love of the film, we visited the Moulin Rouge. Not go to a show though cause it's so expensive:( we got the usual selfie or three and headed home!
