1st July- Got a train to visit Eilidh at the PGL camp in the south of France. I can't remember exactly what the little town was called but we got off the train at a place called Bezier. We didn't arrive until about half 3 so we didn't have time to go and do something but we dumped our stuff and headed straight to the beach instead. I was super brave and went in up to my neck. The water was nice and warm so it was great for paddling and faffing about. For the first few hours we sunbathed and caught up and shared all the gossip and stories of our trip and her time in France. Then we headed back to the camp and got ready for a night of cocktails. We met so many of her pals and work mates who all seemed lovely. We then headed out to the next town over for a meal. On the way there, the bus driver was driving and playing moothy along with his tunes. It was great however probably illegal. Haha! We went to a nice resterant and got some food, pizza for me! One of the best pizza of the trips actually. Then I had ice cream. We were joined for supper by Eilidh's two friends Sarah and JP who we got along with really well and we are looking forward to them visiting Buckie one day! After that, we headed to a cocktail bar where the cocktails were the biggest and most extravagant I've ever seen. I had my usual 'sex on the beach' which I throughly enjoyed whilst having a taste of everyone else's (pictures to follow.. Eventually). There was a man playing guitar and singing in the bar who was really good but he was playing the wildest mix of music. We had some 'hey jude' then 'Gangsters paradise' then typically French songs and even some 'Get Lucky'. Eilidh had mentioned how we were going to a beach bar later but I had clearly not thought what this was through properly as I was totally excited when we arrived and it was actually on the beach with sand and stuff. Haha! It was such a cool bar, only say ten metres from the waves (give or take the tide times) with cheap beer! We met in with some more of Eilidh's friends, one who looked so much like Jamie Dornan! They were really nice boys and of course spent the whole night taking the mick of our accents and how we talked back and forth to each other. We had a few beers there and then wandered home. I wish we could have had a proper night out but most of them had work the next day really early. Was so nice to see Eilidh even though she has changed race! Her tan is unreal! Only a few months before she's back again so it's all good. We also got a comfy bed and cosy tent on site which was a bonus for us! We're now heading to Barcelona for the last part of our journey and the last 5 days of our Europe trip. Counting down the days when I can get some normal mince and tatties for supper.
