Darjeeling is such a wonderful place, instantly from the drive over the mountain and down into the city I knew that I was going to love it here. The people here have changed physically; it almost feels as if we have left India completely and entered the Himalayas. The people have a more Chinese/Nepalese/Tibetan look to them and they are so friendly.

Darjeeling is situated on the side of a mountain with breathtaking views in all directions. The main street is filled with restaurants, coffee shops and small shops selling all kinds of Tibetan and Nepalese goods. Just wandering through the streets is wonderful. We had a full day here and spent most of it relaxing and enjoying spending time exploring. The temperature was quite a shock, we went from t-shirts and shorts to jeans and jackets after one journey. I couldn't believe the temperature could change so much so quickly. It just goes to show the different when you head up into the mountains.
